About this work

Description

A painting in Rita Simon's Traditional Massive style, depicting mountains or hills. The painting was produced by a tuberculosis patient, in the 1940s, an educated man in a two-person ward with another man, both Civil Servants. There are faces drawn in pencil on the verso: (it is possible that these were produced by the second man).

The title has been taken from notes made during conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
