Description

Comprises a typed report by Edinburgh Science For People on its origins and policy, handwritten notes from a meeting which includes summaries of other local Science For People groups, membership cards for Edinburgh Science For People and Edinburgh Society for Social Responsibility in Science, copies of the logo and a badge of the American group Science For The People, which which formed the basis of the Edinburgh group's logo, and correspondence regarding BSSRS members and subscribers in Scotland. The file also includes a copy of the first issue of the Hazards Group's Newsheet (1979). Additional papers regarding the Hazards Group are in SA/BSR/B/15.

Edinburgh Science for People was established in November 1972 and based at a flat in South Clerk Street, Edinburgh.

Ownership note

Given to Wellcome by a founder member of the group in September 2024 (accesion 2772).
