Physical description

1 volume 170 ff. (last bl.). 8vo. 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 cm. On vellum and paper (4 vellum, 8paper leaves to a gathering). Original stamped calf binding over wooden boards, re-backed, and much damaged. The original metal and leather clasp repaired. A few margins frayed. Written in a semi-current rounded script, 30 lines to a page: with many contractions. On fol. I an illuminated 'D' in gold and colours, with marginal decoration, within a head and shoulder portrait of a man wearing a red cap and a green gown. On fol. 121 an ornamental letter F of rough design, with marginal decoration, in blue, red and yellow. Other capitals in blue and red: paragraph marks in red and yellow; headings in red. The work has been re-foliated in pencil. There are two vellum fly-leaves at each end of the volume: the first and the last pasted down on the upper and lower cover.

Biographical note

Copied by Brother Sebastian of the Order of the Friars Minor of Verona (Franciscan).

Ownership note

On the first fly-leaf is a 16th century inscription 'Anonymi opera varia': on the second a short table of contents by the original hand. The fourth leaf has a longer inscription: 'Hune librum concessit mihi fratri Laurentio ab auricalino Reuerendus pater frater Ludouicus Vicentinus vicarious. prouinciae sancti antonii In Sancto Ioanne apud campum sancti petri Commorant Anno 1507 die 15. nouembris, et pertinet ad locum sancti Bernardini Amen'.
