Bilharzia.

A health propaganda film in the form of a drama, showing how bilharzia (schistosomiasis) is passed on through poor public hygiene. A schoolboy who urinates in a river is reported to the district Chief Health Officer; the whole school is examined for symptoms and is given a lesson in the life cycle of the schistosome and how this disease is passed on. A baraza (local conference) is held and work is carried out to clear the river of the weeds that harbour the snails which act as host to the schistosome.
