Dead mums don't cry : child-birth death.

Steve Bradshaw reports on why so many women in poorer countries are dying in pregnancy and childbirth - 1 in 11, in comparison to 1 in 500 000 in Britain. He spends a week with obstetrician Dr. Grace Kodindo working in an African hospital in Chad. It is harrowing viewing seeing her with no medical supplies, frequently unable to help the enormous amount of women she sees each day at the hospital. We see one woman bleeding internally while her family have to go in search of blood and medicines for her. Her baby dies and Kodindo fights to save the woman. We also hear from 'birth attendants' who deliver babies away from the hospital. And we visit other areas of Africa where there is more hope.
