    Special items of nursing equipment purchased during the year were two Ripple beds and a Ripple pad which have been most effec¬ tive in the prevention of bed sores to helpless, bedfast patients Other items of nursing equipment such as commodes, invalid chairs beds, mattresses and walking frames totalled 1,244 as the number issued to 561 patients. Training. Due to the lack of students the September course was post¬ poned until the following year. 4 The Assistant Superinterldent attended a nursing management course. The usual arrangements were made for hospital nurses under¬ going training to gain experience of the community services.
