About this work

Description

Undated original letter (or letter fragments) with franked envelope providing date (verso, a note from Burroughs on samples).

Refers to Mr Rankin, hypophosphites, oil of eucalyptus and Burroughs's proposed trip to Java, China and Japan.

The letter includes a paragraph about a collection of postage stamps being made by "a young friend of mine" (in Chicago) and the request that Wellcome make "a little collection from our correspondence". Wellcome appears to have made an immediate start: the franked envelope in this file has had its postage stamp cut away.
