About this work

Description

3D image of the retina looking down on its inner surface. It has been stained to show the cytoskeleton of the glial cells. The long spindly cells are astrocytes and under these are the Mueller cells - radial glia that project down through the retina. A blood vessel is visible on the left-hand side.
