About this work

Description

The book has the following title on folio 1, "The most materiall Points of Physicks or naturall Phylosophy and a few Short Positions." This title and the first two-and-a-half folios of the text are carefully penned in well-formed letters, but the remainder is very rapidly and carelessly written in a very small cramped handwriting, so small as to admit of 60 lines or more per page. The writing is on the recto only, the verso being blank throughout. The first page has been covered with miscellaneous scribblings and bears the name John Armstrong, but this is probably a later addition. On folio 27 the name Humphry Cockram is scrawled twice. The book contains epitomes of lectures, most of which are numbered. The paper and handwriting suggest mid-seventeenth century date.
