Gwynntor Hospital, Tavistock (formerly Tavistock Public Assistance Institution). CHAIRMAN. At the first meeting of the Committee held on the 16th June, 1948, the Chairman, Mr. H. W. Woollcombe, briefly reviewed the events which had led to the formation of the Committee and outlined their functions and powers. He reminded the Committee that it was their responsible task in conjunction with the Plymouth Special Hospital Management Committee and the Moorhaven Hospital Management Committee to provide the best possible hospital service in the area. Their ability to do so would for the time being be limited by the resources available, and the Committee would prepare plans for increasing these resources as and when circumstances permitted.
