While, therefore, it must be admitted that exposure is a frequent factor in the etiology of acute lobar pneumonia, it is at the same tune clearly evident that exposure is not the only or even the most important element in the causation of the disease. Season. The season of the year is naturally regarded as an important etiological factor in the case of acute lobar pneumonia, and the following table gives the number of cases subjected to post- mortem examination in each month of the six years over which the present enquiry extends.
