About this work

Description

This text was composed in the Yuan period (1206-1368). The illustration reproduced comes from an edition of 1515 (10th year of the Zhengde reign period of the Ming dynasty). It shows the back view of a male figure, with his trousers pulled up to display both legs. The acu-moxa locations of the bladder channel of foot taiyang are marked on the back of his left leg, with lines connecting them to labels outside the figure. (See 'Lettering' for list of point names). Both this illustration and L0037886 differ stylistically from the other images taken from the same text (see 'Related images'), and may have been added in the Qing period (1644-1911).
