    side of the house is full, and though considerable additions are in progress on the male side, yet when the patients now at Hereford are brought back, but a small margin will remain. The question of further provision therefore must soon be considered. i I cannot conclude this report without referring to the retirement, owing to impaired health, of a most valuable officer, Mr. George Gooding, who had held the responsible office of Chief Male Attendant since the opening of the Asylum in 1851.
