Description

The Tour de Nesle was by repute the trysting place in 1314 of the daughters in law of King Philip the Fair (Philippe IV) and their lovers, the subject of the play "La Tour de Nesle" by F. Gaillardet and A. Dumas père, 1832. It was demolished in 1665 and was the site of the Institut de France and the Bibliothèque Mazarine
