A reproduction of a photograph of an illuminated manuscript showing Pope Gregory the Great leading a procession in Rome as a penitence to stop the plague in 590 CE. A vision of the Archangel Michael can be seen sheating his sword in acknowledgement. The manuscript is by the brothers Limbourg and Jean Colombe from the early 15th century.
