    FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1938. In October, the duty of enforcing the provisions of the above Act with regard to the purity and genuine nature of food devolved upon the Borough. The Samples examined were as follows : Article Formal Informal Total Milk 12 — 12 Sultanas... — 1 1 Glucose ... — 1 1 Cocoa — 1 1 Linseed Meal ... — 1 1 Sugar — 1 1 Condensed Milk — 1 1 Whiskey — 1 1 Totals ... 12 7 19 The Sale of Milk Regulations 1901 provide that genuine milk shall contain a minimum of 3% fat and 8.5% solids. The average percentage composition of 12 milk samples analysed by the Public Analyst was as follows :— Fat—3.48% Non-Fatty Solids—8.82% and Total Solids—12.3% All the samples named proved genuine.
