Hunter, John (1728-1793)

Notes taken from a Course of Dr. Hunter's Lectures: (on Anatomy and Physiology). Inside the upper cover is inscribed 'Wm. Guy No. 2 Cheapside Side Shoe Maker': who is apparently the writer of the MS., and who may have been a surgeon at Chichester, and father of William Augustus Guy, M.D., F.R.C.S., F.R.S. [1810-1885]. Produced in London.

1 volume 1 l. + 341 pp. + 41 ll. 8vo. 151/2 × 10 cm. Original limp calf binding, rubbed, and defective. Some leaves have been torn out at the end, including the last leaf of the index.

Purchased 1906.

'Dr' Hunter must be William, not John Hunter. Some of the lectures are given by Mr [William] Cruikshank
