Description

Reproduction of a photograph of "Dugena" rain charms from the Torres Strait Island region. Described as "Old and worn, features indiscernible, blackened all over. A bull-roarer and two goa nuts infront of neck - peticoated. Dugena was owned by Gasu and make heavy rain with little thunder". Originally published in 'Reports of the Cambridge Anthropological expedition to Torres Straits , vol vi (Cambridge University Press, 1908).
