About this work

Description

There is loss of lung volume on the right side of this x-ray. This is predominant in the upper zone and is associated with absent ribs in this region. The patient has had a thoracoplasty with removal of ribs in order to collapse the upper lobe. This procedure was performed before adequate tuberculous chemotherapy was available.
