Progressing anticlockwise the stages shown are: early prophase (orange), late prophase (DNA condensation, yellow), prometaphase (incomplete chromosome attachment, green), metaphase (chromosomes all attached and aligned, light blue), anaphase (chromosome separation, dark blue), late anaphase (violet) and telophase (pink).
