    THE TWENTY-FIFTH ANNUAL RERORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF VISITORS OF THE COUNTY AND CITY OF WORCESTER PAUPER LUNATIC ASYLUM, Presented to the Justices of the County at Epiphany Quarter Sessions, 1878, and to the Town Council of the City of Worcester within twenty days of the 22nd of December, 1877, pursuant to the 62nd Section of “ The Lunatic Asylums Act, 1853J Your Committee, in commencing their report, as is their usual practice,* with a reference to Dr. Sherlock, cannot more forcibly express to the Court and Council the very high opinion they continue to entertain of him, than by giving prominence here to a Resolution which was unanimously and cordially passed at a Meeting on the 5th of November last, specially summoned to consider the question of his Salary :— (COPY RESOLUTION.) “The question of the increase of Dr. Sherlock’s Salary, adjourned from the last Meeting, was fully considered with the returns which had been procured of the Salaries paid to the Medical Superintendents in other Asylums, and it was the unanimous opinion of the Committee that Dr. Sherlock is, on account of his long and efficient services, not only as its Physician, but in the administration of the financial and general affairs of the Institution, entitled to be placed on an equality with the first
