About this work

Description

Blancheton was a physician with the French army in the Napoleonic Wars, in which he contracted typhus. He practised medicine in civil life, but in 1826 he suddenly lost his sight. In 1827 he published Souvenirs d'un aveugle, and in 1828 he started on "un ouvrage historique et iconographique sur les châteaux du royaume" (Breschet), published in 1831 under the title Vues pittoresques des châteaux de France.
