Of all the paflions, hope, both as a gentle ftimulant, and comppfing fedatiye, feems, in general, to anfwer the befl: purpofes, and to be moft in our power to manage, and is further fervice- able, as it tends to infure the compliance pf the patient with the rules prefcribed, Having finifhed thefe previous remarks, I fhall next attempt an application of what has been faid to particular difeafes.
