About this work

Description

Patients at the Schieffelin Leprosy Research Sanatorium in India are often cured of their leprosy but suffer severe damage and ulceration to their feet because of a loss of pain sensation. The plastercast is a good way of protecting the foot whilst allowing the patient to remain active. Sandals ad new ways of walking can also help. Also includes general information of the anti leprosy campaign and the work of the paramedical worker.
