Description

Leaflet advertising a viewing of the infant George Alexander Gratton, exhibited as the Spotted Boy, a black child who had vitiligo, a skin pigmentation disorder. He was born on St. Vincent in 1808 and later adopted by the entertainer John Richardson (mentioned in Dickens). His portrait is in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.
