About this work

Description

The saturated, treated net is being put into a plastic bag. The plastic bag is given to the owner to be taken home and dried. The health worker will recommend that the net is dried out of direct sunlight and flat on the family bed. This is because sunlight may denature the permethrin, and the insecticide has the added benefit of suppressing bedbug infestations. The net is dried flat to prevent patchy coverage of insecticide. People who dip nets all day as part of a dipping operation should wear gloves. See also images W0046175, W0046177, W0046178, W0046179 and W0046181.
