About this work

Description

Copy letter, sent from Sydney to Henry Wellcome.

Refers to the typographical expression of fractions in Burroughs Wellcome & Co literature: "our present way of expressing fractions does not seem to be understood by the profession & trade - they fail to notice our remarks that the dash denotes fractions & hesitate to prescribe or dispense the pills for this reason." Burroughs suggests "having the dash inclined at 45º instead of horizontal". Also, detailed suggestions on pocket-cases, medical cabinets, and packaging in general.
