Description

Privilegium in arte aromataria, granted by the Collegium Pharmacopolarum of Venice. Illuminated title in gold and colours, full-page coloured miniatures of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Mark, the Arms of the eight Pharmacy Guilds, and the Lion of St. Mark above the four emblazoned shields of the Justiciars. Written in black and gold, within gold and black rules. The document is signed by Benetto Grimani, Andrea Marin, Battista Dolfin and Giovanni Mario Arenzi for the Justiciars of Venice; and by Angelo Partevoli, Giovanni Bonamigo, Giovanni Centenari, Marc Antonio Zopelli, Dominico Vincenti, Augustino Morossi, Antonio Zaghetti, Giuseppe Pazienza and Apollonio Apolloniis for the Pharmacy Guilds. The verso of the last leaf contains endorsements by Camillo Fabretti of the Officio di Sanità of Lucca, dated 16/6/1785, and of Piccioli of the Venice Health Department dated 11/2/1804. Produced in Venice.
