About this work

Description

This documentary follows the lives of Egyptian conjoined twins Ahmed and Mohammed who were born joined at the head. The prognosis for such twins is very poor. The twins are flown to Dallas where craniofacial surgeon Kenneth Salyer asseses whether or not surgery is possible, a process which takes a year. Footage is shown of the 30-hour operation to separate the twins. After separation followed a long process of physical therapy. We see the boys again when the are 6-years-old and attending an English school in Cairo. They return to Dallas to be re-assessed by Dr. Salyer - scans show that with individual motor training and some extra lessons the twins have a good chance of recovering to be like any other child.
