Description

Sitter described thus by Chaloner Smith, loc. cit.: "Henry Harmood. Attorney and friend of Lord Northington ..., Clerk to the Enrolments in Chancery and Messenger to the Great Seal. Died at Alresford, Hants., 26th Dec. 1791, at a very advanced age. The origin of the appellation on the print has not been discovered. At p. 64 of the Strawberry Hill catalogue, a note from Mr Bull is mentioned, stating that only two impressions of this print are known. "
