Description

Photograph of a dissected hind paw of a dog. It shows the tarsus (hock) and the joints and ligaments of the digits. The common calcaneal which attaches to the tarsus and the long digital extensor tendons attaching to the digits are prominent. The tendon of the tibialis cranialis muscle runs from dorsal to medial and attaches just below the tarsus.
