Infectious Diseases. In all cases where the Medical Officer certified that the whitewashing and cleansing of premises would tend to prevent or check the spread of infectious disease, notices were served and the necessary works carried out. Disinfection of Premises, Rooms, &c. 488 Rooms were disinfected during the year. The follow¬ ing articles were removed and disinfected :— Beds and Mattresses 445 Pillows and Bolsters 526 Blankets 481 Carpets - 60 Articles of Clothing, &c. - 2,245 Total 3,757
