Description

Black and white photograph of the left leg of a man aged 75 years, in a condition of gangrenous cellulitis. The leg was amputated through the thigh, but the man died soon afterwards of shock. All the arteries were found to be rigid and calcareous at the post-mortem examination. There was also infective endocarditis.
