Transgenic Drosophila pupa expressing GFP

Transgenic Drosophila melanogaster pupa expressing green fluorescent protein (GFP) throughout its body. During pupation the insect undergoes metamorphosis where the larval tissues restructure themsleves into the adult forms. Here the facets of the adult compound eye are clearly visible below the surface.
