Mr. Donaldfon, of Ca<vnttt long afflicted with the gout in an extreme degree, drank Tarwater feme months, and from aclofe con- finement to his bed and chair, is now walking ab ut the ftreets, and does not remember when he was able to do fo for many years pail. 89. Mr. IVaren, agent to Alder- man Danjofon, was allhmatic, and itemed to be confumptive to the laft negree, but recovered of all his complaints folely by the Tar- water. go. A poor fellow of this town, afthmatic, and almofl incapable of any action, is now reftored by it. 91. My brother in law, Mr. Pratt, who has been extremely ill many years of fcorbutic difordcrs, and has ift vain drank all the waters in Europe, drank weak Tarwaier a good while (the ftrong difagrceing with him) and is quite recovered. C. Coote. 92. A letter from William Ryves, Efq; from Caftlejane, near Tip- perary, Oft. 11, 1744. My tenant, John Cornick,* mow- er and ploughman, by heats and cold, acquired a cough, which continued on him feveral months, and fometimes difabJed him from following the plough ; but about March laft, he was obliged to keep his bed, notwithstanding he had the advice of two phyficians ; 2nd being worn away to perfect fkin and bone, they pronounced him very near his end. About July laft, he took Tarwater twice or thrice a day ; for the firft week he coughed prod'tgioufly, and brought up great quantities of fetid corrup- tion ; every day after, his cough abated, and his ftomach increafed, and at the end of 3 weeks drinking,, he was able to walk half a mile with pleafure, which he did every morning between his firft draughc and breakfaft; and in 5 weeks time had gathered a good deal of ilren'gth ; in fhort, his cough is; gone, and he finds himfelf hearty. 93. Edivard Moore, Efq; Of 'Moore % Fort, in the County of Tit^ ferary, was extremely out of order^ and by the phyficians judged to have an ulcer in his bladder, and was- preparing to go to fome waters proper for him; he had quite loft: his ftomach and complexion, but: by the ufe of Tarwater for 5 or 6 weeks, is not only quite well of his diforder, but has recovered his ftomach and complexion. My wife has drank it for Lme time for a little barking cough, which fhe has had thefe 3 years paft, which am dls her moft as {he gets up in the morning ; fhe has found fuch. an abatement of it, that I do not doubt but in a little time /he will be quite free.
