This recording is of interviews with former colleagues and pupils of pioneering cardiologist, Sir Thomas Lewis. The interviews were conducted by Dr. Arthur Hollman in preparation for his biography on Lewis: 'Sir Thomas Lewis: pioneer cardiologist and clinical scientist', London; New York: Springer, c1996. Dr. Arthur Morris, interviewed 15 January 1975, knew Lewis at University College Hospital, 1912-1915. Lady Gaddum, House Physician to Sir Thomas Lewis, interviewed 2 May 1975, talks about how she became Lewis' House Physician and what it was like to work in his firm.

This tape is part of a collection donated to Wellcome Trust by Dr. Arthur Hollman in 2007. The tapes contain oral history interviews conducted by Dr Hollman between 1974 and 1990 with a grant from the Wellcome Trust. The interviews are largely with former colleagues and pupils of Sir Thomas Lewis and two are with Lady Lewis. They provide an invaluable source of first-hand information about Lewis and the medical world during his time, with personal recollections going back as far as 1920.
