About this work
Description
The second in a four-part series which takes the viewer on a graphic journey through the human body. The series is hosted by anatomist Gunther von Hagens and pathologist Professor John Lee. It is filmed at the Institute for Plastination in Germany and contains highly graphic dissection scenes presented in a pseudo-theatrical format in front of an audience made up of potential future body donors and anatomy students. This second part involves the dissection of a corpse to examine the organs of circulation in some detail. We follow an atom of oxygen as it enters the lungs until it is expelled later, and mark the changes it makes in the body along the way.
