Description

Tricyrtis Wall. Convallariaceae 'Togen' with hoverfly. Toad Lily. Distribution: Formosa, but other species from Himalayas to China, Japan, Philippines. Perennial herbaceous plant. Tricyrtis means 'three humped ' in Greek referring to its three part shape formosana means beautiful and the island of Formosa (whose name also means beautiful). Medicinal uses not known. Photographed in the Medicinal Garden of the Royal College of Physicians, London.
