Charles Michel de l'Epée, ne à Versailles, le 25 Novembre 1712, institua l'enseignment des sourds-muets en 1760. Il mourut à Paris le 25 Novembre 1789. Vue loi des 21 & 29 Juillet érigea en Institution Nationale l'eta blissement qu'il avait fondé à ses frais.
