About this work

Description

Transmission electron micrograph showing the site of a corneal ulcer. Keratocytes at different stages of degeneration can be seen and the surrounding stroma is filled with the cell debris (organelles and membranes) from the disrupted cells. The field is approxiamately 17 microns across.
