About this work
Description
Rather superficial and historically unenlightening attempt to relate William Harvey's discovery of the circulation of the blood to the Royal Society's early interest in experimental blood transfusions from animals to man during the 1660s and '70s. Intended primarily for secondary school audiences, but despite some interesting use of dramatic historical reconstructions, of insufficient historiographical depth even at this level.
