    CHAP. IV. Wounds of the Auricle. Extensive wounds in the auricle are seldom to be met with in private practice; on a fair calculation they will be found to be in propor- tion to that of the other complaints of the organ, as one is to two hundred. In the military or naval service, they will be found more frequent, according to the depart- ment in which the estimate may be taken; but although these accidents are rare, yet we hope a few remarks on the subject will not be considered ‘superfluous.
