About this work
Description
Content: Extract of The Late Show, a cultural magazine programme, broadcast c.1991. It features an item on a major Constable exhibition at the Tate Gallery, London, [1991]* which included input from Ismond Rosen as well as artists, painters, academics and art historians, all filmed on Hampstead Heath looking up at cloud formations in the sky. Rosen's input includes describing Constable's childhood in the Suffolk countryside. Unfortunately the sound is missing from about 10 minutes into the recording and the rest of the video is without sound.
The extract cuts to an unrelated news programme recording before Comment begins. This item was broadcast on Channel 4 and features Rosen speaking (in his studio at home) with the Holocaust Triptych. The film shows him explaining the work ('Revelation' is represented by a life-sized cardboard cut out) with close-ups of various parts of the sculptures.
*The date is probably 1991, based on it being, according to the presenter, the last ever broadcast from the BBC's Limegrove studios.Publication/Creation
