Description

This programme follows the work of consultants and dental specialists at King’s College Hospital, London. Presenter Dr Chris van Tulleken conducts an experiment exploring the assumptions people make about people’s personalities based on different images of their face and teeth. Van Tulleken investigates the quality and necessity of the different dental products available on the market to consumers. Van Tulleken conducts a study with Dr Wyman Chan looking into the effects of different commercial tooth whitening products. Van Tulleken discusses techniques for avoiding halitosis. Presenter Jasmine Harman follows a former patient from King’s College Hospital undergo an operation for dental implants by Dr Kailesh Solanki. Dr Serpil Djemal and her team are seen conducting emergency dental treatments. Van Tulleken demonstrates what to do if a tooth suffers trauma. Harman introduces a patient that struggles to eat due to painful dentures. Van Tulleken explains remineralisation.
