Critical observations concerning the Oenanthe aquatica succo viroso crocante of Lobel [Cicuta virosa] ... occasioned by an extract of a letter from Mr. George Howell, Surgeon of Haverfordwest, to the Author, giving an account of the poisonous effects of this plant to some french prisoners at Pembroke. Biographical note

The author was a physician and naturalist, and was elected F.R.S. in 1741 and F.R.C.P. in 1784: he was knighted in 1786.
