    STATISTICS AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS. Area. The area of the Administrative County during 1943 was 449,160 acres. Population. 300 The population of the Administrative County at the 1931 Census/was 947,770, and the Registrar- General’s estimate of the population at mid-year 1943 was 1 100/ an increase of 230,530 in clovcrTTwE+VE years. There has been considerable fluctuation in the population since the beginning of the war.
