Notes

Two different printings, of which Evans records only one (32668) appeared with the same title, imprint, and collation; and with the author's statement "To the public" dated Plainfield, Jan. 2, 1797. This edition, probably the reprint, has the title in roman and italic type; the caption for a letter on p. 7 reads: Gen. Elihu Marvin, member of the Connecticut Medical Society; and the letter of the Rev. Dr. Jedidiah Morse, pp. 12-13, is dated December 9, 1796. ESTC, Trumbull, and Johnson do not differentiate the printings
Consists of testimonials, some of which were published in 1796 under title: Certificates of the efficacy of Doctor Perkins's patent metallic instruments
