Description

Wooden statue of St James, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, represented as a pilgrim with scallop shells on his hat holding a scrip. Patron saint of pilgrims, druggists and apothecaries. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R427/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of St Yves, patron saint of lawyers and the poor. Invoked for success in business. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R465/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of St Bernard, Abbot of Sauve. Invoked by pregnant women. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R460/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
