Description
First of 3-part series on Baroque anatomy, mainly in France and Italy, and its relations to medicine, religion and the fine arts, c.1600 - c.1800. The first part deals with the rise of wax anatomical modelling as an applied art in Italy during the seventeenth century, with particular reference to the Sicilian anatomist, wax anatomical model-maker and priest Gaetano Giulio Zumbo (1656-1701).
