Bible. O.T. Genesis 6.19. The two insets show a woman working in a stable. Noah's family is symbolically connected with hard work; see Genesis 5.29.

Lettering

The internal view of the ark of Noah as floating upon the waters of the deluge. To the right Reverend Father in God Robert Ld. Bishop of Peterborough this plate is most humbly inscribed by his Lordship's most dutiful son and servt. Tho. Stackhouse. Plate IV. Page 127. J. Mynde sculp.
